Military Honor(s):

Distinguished Service Cross

Citation: The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Isaac Rabinowitz, Private First Class, U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in action near St. Souplet, France, October 18, 1918. When the advance of his battalion was checked by heavy machine-gun fire, Private Rabinowitz, with two other soldiers, went forward under heavy fire to reconnoiter the enemy positions. By effective rifle fire, they drove the gunners from two machine-gun nests into a dugout nearby, which they captured, together with 35 prisoners, including three officers.
