Citation: The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Eugene S. Cohn, Captain, U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in action near Exmorieux Farm, France, October 2, 1918. After being painfully wounded by shrapnel, Captain Cohn refused to go to the rear and remained on duty with his company in the front line without medical attention for 54 hours.
